American Apparel Skirt

Today was my first day back at university after a three month break! Its very difficult to comprehend how fast the time has gone, holidays were amazing. It so depressing to be back! Today was a very frustrating day because it took me ages to find parking, the line at the textbook shop was about an hour long, I had to spend the most ridiculous amount of money of textbooks, I got stuck in traffic and I didn't get home until 6.00pm. Surprisingly though, I actually met some people in class and I went to the bookshop with them. Since the line was so long I spent quite awhile talking to them and I know a fair bit about them. It probably won't develop into anything, but it would be good if I had someone to talk to in class each week. Tomorrow I have the day off but I'll be studying for most of it so it won't exactly be fun. Agggh...I just can't be bothered to do all the work, I just want to lie around all day! I need motivation.

When I arrived home, I decided to purchase an American Apparel skirt. Thanks for all the comments on my last post, encouragement to do it! lol It was very difficult to decided which one to buy but in the end I decided on the red, tulip, high waisted skirt. I'm a bit concerned about the material because I ordered the fleece skirt. I'm worried it will be too hot because it doesn't get that cold in Australia and I would have preferred an all year round skirt rather than one I can't wear in the middle of summer. I read heaps of reviews and some other people said the fabric was too thick but it seems better than the polyester version. A lot of reviews of that said that polyester was way too short and the material was too plastic looking and prone to ripping. This is the skirt I bought:

I also fell in love with the royal blue skirt since I've been looking for a skirt that colour as well. But one is expensive enough and I will see if I like these skirts before I buy anymore. I also like the Jersey pocket skirt. I'm very excited about my skirt coming. I just hope the material is ok and it fits. That was a good end to a long, boring day.

Wishlist

I always have my eye on many fashion items, especially since Valleygirl and Forever New always have the most gorgeous clothes. Sometimes I avoid going into those shops because I know I'll always find something that I want to spend money on. I don't even have a job right now! I like Forever New because it is modern, young and girly. I especially love the printed skirts, attention to detail and feminine dresses. I've only ever bought shoes and accessories there because the clothes are out of my price range but I think I'll buy something soon. Valleygirl is definately my favourite shop because it is affordable but the clothes don't look cheap. I also like the variety and the fact that they have a fast turnover so I hardly ever see anyone in the same clothes as me.
1. Valleygirl jacket $69.95
2. Valleygirl dress $34.95
3. Valleygirl dress $34.95
4. Valleygirl skirt $29.95
5. Forever New dress (currently on ebay)
6. Coco Land bag $25.00 (similar to the one in the picture)
7. Forever New skirt $59.95
8. Forever New skirt $59.95
9. Forever New jacket $119.95
I can't find any pictures right now of items 6-8 so I'll add them here when I do.

My first entry

Hi and welcome to my blog. I've never had a blog before but recently I've seen some amazing blogs and it has inspired me to create my own. My three month summer holiday from University is almost over, so this probably isn't the best time to start a blog, but I'm sure I'll find some time to regularly update it. This being my first entry, I thought I'd start with some random facts about myself:

*My name is Imogen, I'm 19 and I'm a law student.
*I'm not looking forward to turning 20 this year, I love being a teenager. I'm a big kid at heart and I never want to grow up.
*If I could be anything in the world I'd choose to be a professional singer of a professional tennis player. I've never had singing lessons in my life, but for a total n00b I don't think I'm too bad. As for tennis, I had to quit for reasons beyond my control in 2007 and I haven't returned since. I'm realistic about my limitations, but we are all allowed to fantasise!
*I really hate university, mainly due to the size of the institution. I find it very lonely and I don't have any friends there.
*I finished school in 2007 and I miss it so much. I'd love to go back to that time.
*I hate my hair because its too thin and I hate the texture. Its too damaged from straightners and hair colours. I worry about what it looks like a lot.
*I'm interested in fashion but only vaguely for the last couple of years. Recently I've become a lot more interested and I spend hours looking for a bargin or finding ideas on the internet. I believe I've come a long way in putting together an outfit.
*I'd love the visit the UK someday. I feel as though I'm almost English because of my Mum coming from there and my interest in English television and culture.
*I'm shy (which I hate) and I don't have many friends. But give me a chance, I'm nice once you get to know me.
*My boyfriend makes up for my otherwise lack of social life. We have many outings together and with his family. I love them all.
*I often make jokes about Australia and some of the bogans that live here but really, its a great place to live!
*I keep an online journal because I have a lot of thoughts that I never get the chance to say. I often like to analyse situations and form opinions on things that have happened to me. I believe I am quite a philosophical person sometimes.
*I hate my name. I want to change it but I'm not sure how practical this is. My favourite name is Chelsea.
