Kitten D'Amour Collection

Yesterday I had a meeting in the city and wasn't due at work for awhile so I decided to fit in some sneaky shopping. I very rarely go into the Sydney CBD so I thought it would be a good opportunity to check out the relatively new Kitten D'Amour shop. I first discovered Kitten D'Amour a number of years ago while on holidays in Queensland. I'd never seen anything like it before; the designs were simply exquisite and out of this world. I seriously wanted to own the whole shop. My mother in law kindly bought me two beautiful pieces and I still wear them frequently to this day. You can see my post on that outfit here. That holiday reminds me of happier times; my mother in law used to be my best friend and now the relationship has completely broken down. It breaks my heart every day and is a huge part of why I've felt so depressed in recent times. Anyway, back to the shopping. Since then I've loved Kitten D'Amour and maintained a moderate interest in their website but they never had a store in Sydney...and now they do! I love so much about the clothes; one of my favourite random aspects is the fact they use beautiful velvet ribbon on just about everything. I made one purchase which is the top featured in the first picture. I wanted to buy more but to be honest the pieces are rather expensive. The top I bought was 50% off so they do have some good sales. Here are  few of my favourite looks from the current collection. I notice some of the pictures were taken around Sydney city; it's cool to be able to recognise the locations in a photoshoot.

My absolute favourite is this piece here, the High Society Opera Dress. I tried it on in the store today and fell in love. It is my dream dress; so unique, a class of its own and the most beautiful I've seen. I didn't have the money but I will be saving up and returning for this treasure.

Outfit

This is my first ever dress from Bonne Chance Collections; I discovered this amazing website a few weeks ago and posted about it here. It has the most adorable, beautiful and sweet dresses I've ever seen; the designs are so special and like those from my dreams. I wish I could build up the whole collection of unicorns, kittens, strawberries and stars. This particular dress has the print of little shoes, handbags and hat boxes. I love it so much! The dress runs a little large and doesn't come in an extra small so I'm more comfortable wearing a cardigan over the top since the dress isn't particularly tight fitting. That works well in the winter time anyway. I had the desire to wear my heart print cardigan; I haven't worn it in ages. It's so fun and happy to wear. I adore the heart print buttons too. I often don't know what to wear it with but, like I did with this look, I'm going to create more outfits involving pattern mixing. The cardigan is also the perfect match to my Marc by Marc Jacobs flats. Ever since I receive my Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats as a gift last year which I posted here I've been completely in love with Marc by Marc Jacobs flats of all varieties. Not only do they look amazing, they are the most comfortable shoes ever. I've bought two pairs since and both at very reasonable prices; if you search hard enough there are some great deals out there. The unicorn bag adds to the girly, pretty and adorable theme.

It's so great to be back at work this week. I feel much more comfortable there than at college. I'm very busy at work at the moment, I've been given some extra responsibilities which is a great opportunity. But it's exceedingly hard to balance law college and full time work which is why I keep wishing for college to end. Although there have been some challenging and not so positive times at work, this job has overall been the best thing to ever happen to me. I am so grateful for how much of a life it gave me when I literally felt like there was no other point to life. On another note, at work we have a world cup draw and I have been assigned The Netherlands as my team. I haven't ever watched much of the world cup in past years but this time I'll probably take a moderate interest since he have this fun game at work. I need The Netherlands to win some games so I can get prices at work!

Outfit

Hi everyone! As you can see I ended up purchasing the shoes from the wishlist in my last post. I had my eye on them for so long and, given the amazing sale (& the fact that I already owned the matching handbag), I couldn't resist. I seriously have such a problem with spending money. I truly feel I'll never get anywhere in life because I cannot seem to get it under control. For now, I'll just enjoy the shoes. I've never had a matching shoes and handbag set so it's pretty exciting. They are both so dainty and adorable; most definitely my style. Ever since Alannah Hill released a number of duck egg blue pieces last winter, I've been obsessed with all shades of light and medium blue. The shoes and handbag are such a beautiful unique shade; I've never seen such items in this exact colour before. When deciding what to style them with, my Bernie Dexter dress jumped out at me. I love the way the blue accessories highlight the blue on the dress. I first posted this dress here when I attended the races last year. It has remained one of my favourites and most worn dresses. I love wearing it to work to brighten up the day. It's actually quite versatile given the numerous amount of cardigan combinations. Also, as I said at the time, I know many bloggers own this dress and that makes me feel part of the club. It's so nice to have such a beautiful dress which reminds me of my friends from around the world. I finally had the chance to use my panda umbrella for the first time last week. I'd never wanted it to rain so much; I'd been waiting so many weeks. There should be rain this week so I will have more opportunities to show off my exciting panda.

I'm returning to work tomorrow after an absence of ten days. I was at college last week so had to take the time off work. I've never had such a long break from work; it feels like I've missed so much. College was very difficult; it was even more challenging and out of my comfort zone than I expected. It was stressful and a lot of work. The week mainly compromised of oral style assessments such as client interviews, oral exams and mock court cases. As the most shy and insecure person ever I cannot even explain what it took for me to get through it. My anxiety was at maximum levels again.  I'm pleased with myself for getting this far and am so relieved it's over. However, I'm worried for the next on site week in a couple of months and cannot wait for the course to be over. I mainly just find it so demanding with a full time job; so frequently I'm scared I just won't be able to cope any more. Stay focused until 22 August, I just hope it's worth it.

Current Loves

When the Planets A-Dine Plate Set
In the number one position on my wishlist at the moment is undoubtedly these planet plates from Modcloth. I've loved them for ages, ever since I saw them in the coming soon section on Modcloth. What's great is that my husband loves them too so that's even more of an excuse to spend money. They would look so amazing in the house. As soon as I next get paid I will be buying these and I can't wait.

Modcloth Haute Air Balloon Dress
I discovered this dress when my friend Jamie from Petite Panoply posted it on her blog recently. It immediately formed part of my wishlist too. I love how fun, colourful, dreamy, magical and adorable the print is. I have never seen a hot air balloon printed dress before so I think it's very special and unique.  I hope this dress somehow makes its way into my wardrobe.

I came across Bait Footwear recently; I'm so in love with the vintage style heels and wish I could get my hands on some. I always find it extremely difficult to locate vintage style shoes and I often believe that's what is missing from my style. It's great how these shoes come in so many different colours. I also love the version with the t-bar straps. However it's this red version that's my absolute favourite.

Modcloth High Socie-tea Dress
I've seen a few bloggers with this dress lately and it makes me love it even more. There are a few dresses which I commonly see in the fashion blogging world such as the Bernie Dexter Wizard of Awesome Dress which I also owen. It makes me feel part of the club. Apart from that I adore the soft colours and the association with macarons. I've also been impressed by a couple of other Bea and Dot pieces so I'm sure this is no exception.

Alannah Hill Today I'm Not Myself Flat
I've had my eye on these flats for sometime now and, given that there is a sale on Alannah Hill shoes at the moment (more than 50% off for these), I probably will end up buying them. The colour is so unique and beautiful; I don't think I've ever seen this exact shade before. It's such a stand out and I'm drawn to it. I love the silver heel, it is one of my favourite details on shoes at the moment. I also have the matching handbag in the same colour.

Modcloth My Little Pretty Top
I just love how My Little Pony has made its way into fashion in recent times; My Little Pony tops and dresses are such a fun and happy idea. I adore the childhood memories it evokes. If I had this it would instantly become my new favourite top. I also love the My Little Pony printed dresses which I've seen on ebay but they are somewhat difficult to track down in the correct size!

Alannah Hill Your Lips Burning Mine Gloves
These gloves are super adorable, sweet and pretty. I love the classic colour combination and the series of bows is the stand out feature. They are the best gloves I have ever seen. It's freezing leaving for work at 7.15am at the moment so I'd definitely get a great deal of use from them. As Rebecca Bloomwood said in Confessions of a Shopaholic, gloves are a necessity because it is winter and I have...hands. Please come on sale!

What is on your wishlist at the moment?

Outfit

A couple of weeks ago my good friend and I decided to wear matching outfits to work for an entire week. Each day we chose a different colour and coordinated looks; towards the end of the week a few other colleagues joined in too. It was very fun, brightened up the week and gave me something to look forward to each day. These are our pictures from purple Monday. The focus on monochrome gave me so many ideas for outfits; at the moment I adore wearing outfits in one colour. For this look I added as much purple as I could find in my wardrobe and was happy with the results. This was my first time wearing this dress. I purchased it last year from Modcloth and it's the Boysenberry Buckle Dress by Hell Bunny. The reason I hadn't worn it before was the length; it's pretty crazy that it took probably six months to get around to having it hemmed. I know the vintage style of the dress suits the longer length but I didn't think it was particularly flattering on me. I like the way it is much better now. The strapless style will be really lovely in the warmer weather. I added my glitter purple Guess flats because what is there not to love about sparkle!?

This week I'll be at law college instead of work which I'm extremely nervous about. I've always experienced extremely low confidence and deep feelings of insecurity around both studying and working in the law so I'm going to find this week extremely challenging. I have  no interest in the law; my mind wanders continually and I'm generally thinking about fashion instead. The practical and role play style of assessments this week are just so incredibly far out of my comfort zone. The last time I physically attended college back in January (this is an online course with three weeks only of physical attendance) I was so unhappy and missed work immensely.  I just cannot wait until it's over. I'll feel so much better about myself if I can get through it. On a positive note, I can sleep for an extra 40 minutes each morning this week in comparison with my usual work routine.
