Hi everyone. As I mentioned in my last post this is my new Hello Sailor top from Kitten D'Amour. I've loved nautical and sailor inspired outfits for an extremely long time; I posted many nautical outfits in the early days of my blog. It has a vintage element and never really goes out of style. I love the lace, polka dots and the frill detailing on the sleeves. My favourite detail is probably the red velvet trim because it is so sweet and super adorable. I can't wait to style this top with a wide range of pieces. The obvious choice to pair with such a nautical inspired top is a red pencil skirt. I love how the lace detailing on the skirt matches the lace on the top and I like how a pencil skirt  has a pin up vibe. I've had this skirt for ages and I am surprised I haven't shown it on my blog before. I love rediscovering pieces that I've had for ages. I also own this skirt in green which I should totally wear again soon. I went for polka dots shoes because a double dose of polka dots seemed like a fun idea. There can never be enough, right? I decided to go for a less conventional shade of blue with the bag for a pop of colour. I adore this bag at the moment.

Cute outfit; I love the bold red color of the skirt.
Enjoy the rest of the week.

Polka dots are always a good idea so I love that you went with doubling them up. And nautical looks are always one of my favs. I used to dress a lot in nautical tones in my early twenties but kind of stopped. Might need to change that eh?!

I'm so in love with this dress! I've loved all the dresses I have seen you wear so far...but this one somehow stands out for me. Maybe beacuse of that hight waist (which I love) or because it has so many details (love the top of it) or maybe just because I adore navy style.

Anyhow, enough about the dress. You look so lovely! I like how you have your own signature very feminine style! I always enjoy seeing your outfits.

I do like that quote! Often it is the difficulties in life that shape us and make us stronger.

Oh, I just realized that this is a top and a skirt (and remembered you wrote it is...) but seeing it together, I forgot about what you wrote...these two are such a perfect combo that they look like one i.e a dress!

Have a nice day!

haha, rediscovering pieces really IS the best! Like "oh man, I bought this a year ago! I still really like it!" sometimes it's just a matter of trying something on and realizing you like it better on you then on the hanger. :)

Oh you go the top! Looks awesome on you! You could be a model for them.

I think it's even better to rediscover items from your closet than buying new pieces!
You're looking absolutely adorable! At first i thought it was a dress, but a top + skirt is even better cause then you can wear it separately as well!

Your Kitten D'Amore Hello Sailor Spot Top and Modcloth Lacy Luck Skirt look like they were made to be paired together. I too love the lacy detail at the top's neckline, the ruffles at the cuffs of its sleeves, and the red velvet trim. The skirt's big dark button-front appearance and dark trim at the hem look very pretty as well.
