Outfits 2012

As usual here is my 2012 in outfits. Happy New Year to you all. What a year it has been. I can't believe it is almost 2013; to me 2013 seemed like one of those futuristic years that was so far away that it would never arrive! Objectively 2012 may seem like a rather successful year for me; I got married, finished my law degree and moved into my own apartment but I have to say it has actually been the worst year of my life; I've felt extremely depressed for most of the year. I've had a lot to deal with; many negative situations occurred which I decided not to write about on my blog. For example, I have been unemployed for the entire year and I don't think much else can damage one's self esteem as much as unemployment does. I feel like a loser, despite having two university degrees, and I am angry at myself for not being able to do what the rest of the world does every day. Now I have no confidence to even look for jobs, I am so scared because I am so convinced I will fail. As a result, I spend an incredible amount of time by myself often having no motivation to get out of bed because my life often seems pointless (I don't know what I'd do without my blog; I'd go even more crazy). I'm stuck in a negative cycle and I feel like I can't change. There are other aspects of my life I need to sort out too. It just goes to show that happiness is the most important thing, rather than success or achievements of material objects. Well maybe happiness is success.

Well I didn't expect to engage in such rambling about my life. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I desperately hope that 2013 is a much better year that 2012 and that it brings me some happiness. Anyway, best wishes to you all for the new year. Thanks for reading my blog xoxoxoxox

It goes without saying that my wedding dress was my favourite outfit for 2012:

Charlotte Olympia Christmas Collection

Like many fashion bloggers I have been completely obsessed with the Charlotte Olympia kitty flats for quite some time now. I first posted about them here and, if for some miraculous reason I came into money, they'd be the first item I'd buy. I am going to buy myself a pair of cheaper kitty flats in the next couple of days; there are some decent alternatives around. It will be my last purchase. Next year I want to stop spending money as my main new years resolution. I know I've said this before but next year it is a necessity because I am now paying rent and I'm still unemployed. Anyway, now to the actual point of this post. I was browsing the Internet for kitty flats when I came across the Charlotte Olympia Christmas Collection. I fell in love instantly. My favourites, obviously, are the kitty flats in glitter but the holly flats are amazing too (and..well...everything!).

Christmas Day Outfit

It's been such an incredibly long time since I last took outfit photos; I thought to myself as I was in the park today, that it must be about six weeks since I last did this. I'm pleased to be back to regular posting now after the crazy busyness that was my life this year. When I look back I can't quite believe I got married, moved house and finished my law degree all within a month. It was incredibly exhausting and stressful. Remind me never to take on this much at once ever again! Anyway, this is the outfit I wore on Christmas Day. I had to dress up in it again today for photos since I had no chances on Tuesday due to the rain. I always use Christmas as the ultimate excuse to dress up despite the fact that Christmas is usually a small and casual affair and I am extremely overdressed in comparison to everyone else. I always put a huge amount of thought and effort into choosing my Christmas outfit; as a bonus I realised later that it was a Christmas colour too! As I said the other day the rain made it feel very unlike Christmas. I'm just so used to warm and sunny Christmas days in Sydney. I started off the day in a pair of black heels to match the dress but within a short period of time I changed into the yellow shoes. My sister gave them to me for Christmas and I wanted to wear them immediately despite yellow and green not being a colour combination I would have chosen normally. I'm absolutely obsessed with my new shoes. It was such a thoughtful idea because they are my very own version of a pair of shoes which I've borrowed from my sister continually this year. I've been desperate to have a pair myself and it is so exciting. My pair are even more comfortable, have gold trim on the inside and are a brighter shade of yellow. WOW! My sister's version of these shoes I wore here

Wedding Photos

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having an enjoyable holiday season. I can't believe it was raining so heavily for Christmas day here. It just seems so uncharcateristic of a summer Christmas in Sydney; it was a fun day nevertheless. I'll write more about that later. I have many outfits to post from my Christmas celebrations but I don't have them ready due to the rainy weather and the fact that my memory cards seem to have disappeared while moving house. So for now I will show you the next part of my wedding photos. These were taken during and directly after the ceremony which was held in the scenic gardens of Milton Park.

It was actually very scary walking out into such a large crowd; I'm not used to being the centre of attention.

We decided to have a sand ceremony where Rydog and I poured different coloured sand into a container. Each grain of sand is supposed to symbolise our individual experiences which have brought us together; the mixing of the sand symbolises a life which is now interconnected. I thought it would be a fun idea and different sort of ceremony.

I'm not really the kind of person who displays public affection so I'm surprising myself by putting this on the Internet.

Since I LOVE butterflies we had a butterfly release at the end of the ceremony.

The butterflies viciously attacked Rydog while everyone else laughed!

Wedding Photos

I'm back! I didn't expect to have such a long break and I have missed blogging immensely but my life has just been so busy and chaotic lately. I got married on the 1st of December and then we moved house the week after. I will write more about moving out in one of my upcoming posts because it has been a very significant change for me. I definitely underestimated how long it would take to move out; it was a much bigger task than anticipated and we are still unpacking and had to wait awhile for our furniture to arrive but it is slowly coming together. We only just got Internet in our apartment so that has made it impossible to write a blog post until now.  I thought I would start by showing some of my wedding photos. The wedding was an amazing weekend away and I enjoyed every moment of it. After over two years of planning I am so sad that it was over incredibly fast. We got married in the Southern Highlands which is an hour and a half south of Sydney, at a place called Milton Park. I've posted about Milton Park a few times during the year such as here . It is a beautiful country estate and was just perfect for the occassion. I wanted to get married outside of Sydney so it would be very special and different from any other sort of experience. It is also an area of significance because I frequently visited the Southern Highlands with my parents when I was a child. My dress was the first aspect of the wedding that I ever chose. I knew right from the start that I wanted a princess style look; as soon as I saw the dress I fell in love with it so I bought it over two years before the wedding day.I wanted it to stand out and be a sparkly as possible! Today I'll leave you with the photos that were taken before the wedding ceremony.
