Outfit

When it comes to fashion, it is probably obvious from my blog, that my favourite items are pretty dresses and mary-jane heels. I am truly obsessed with them and I simply cannot resist an item of this description, often spending way too much money. A beautiful dress or pair of heels can instantly make me feel happy. On Saturday I experienced this when I finally decided to buy this 1950s inspired mint lace dress from Portmans. I've had my eye on it for a few weeks now. It is probably the most expensive dress I've ever bought myself. I'm very impressed with the dresses in Portmans this season. The store has a number of unique vintage inspired pieces which I adore. The other one I have I displayed
here. I wore my new mint lace dress to a baby shower on Sunday. I received many compliments on it. A few people even asked me if it was real vintage which, in my opinion, is the ultimate compliment. I think I may have a new favourite dress!

Outfit

This has been one of my favourite dresses for the last year and a half and whenever the weather is very hot, as it was on Sunday, it is usually one of my top outfit choices. I posted this dress on my blog once before, at the beginning of last year, which can be located here. I love strapless dresses and I wish I had more of them. These shoes are probably my favourite pair of flats that I own which I bought during a recent sale at Wittner. I am planning to feature them in an item of the week post so I'll show more of them then. This bag is the most recent addition to my wardrobe. I've wanted a bag like this so long and it was an item which I pictured in my mind but never thought I'd actually find. It is very small, not even large enough to fit my Iphone. However, my excitment in finding a bag of this design certainly outweights these practical issues. The weather has been so crazy here this week. It was beautiful and warm on Sunday but now it is freezing cold and raining and I was pulling out my winter clothes again. My mind has been drawn to a leopard print coat in Forever New it is that cold again!

1920s Ball

On Friday night I attended a 1920s flapper ball with my sister at her university. The blue dress that I wore has been one of my favourite outfits for a very long time but, since it is a formal dress, I don't often have the chance to wear it. I definitely wanted to wear it even though it is not particularly 1920s inspired. I thought that the headband and pearl accessories combined with my flapper inspired hair cut would provide the necessary character required for the night. This is also the first time I have worn my favourite shoes for an outfit post which I featured here. I only have a few pictures to show here because most of my photos turned out with a yellow haze for some unknown reason. I was very annoyed about this. I'm trying to edit them but so far it is not turning out very sucessful.

Outfit

Yesterday I wore this new dress for the first time, called the Rhubarb Harvest Dress, from Modcloth. I bought this dress on sale and I am very impressed with it. I love polka dots, red dresses, florals and 1950s style so this dress is a combination of many of my favourite aspects. I also like the fact that this dress is such good quality. It is fully lined so it feels fabulous to wear. I got my hair cut the other day too. It is shorter than I usually like but I chose this length because I am going to a 1920s ball tonight. I thought it would be fun to have the actual flapper hairstyle!

Happy Birthday Juliette Miracle

Today is my kitten Juliette's first birthday! I love Juliette more than I could ever describe and she has brought me incredible happiness in the time that I've owned her. I couldn't ask for a better cat, she is perfect in every way. She has a beautiful, affectionate personality and she is stunningly attractive. Her colourings are becoming darker so I often call her magical colour changing cat.

Item of the Week 014

I'm sorry for my recent and unexpected absence from blogging. I have been extremely busy lately and haven't been able to find the time for commenting and posting. I certainly hope this will change soon. Today I thought I'd show you another cardigan that I customised a few weeks ago. I've probably customised close to ten of these cardigans now but since the warmer weather is coming I plan to move onto tops. I want to start sewing lace collars or peter pan collars onto summer/spring clothes and lace trim to the bottom of dresses. I am also considering selling some of my creations on etsy. I don't think this will happen for awhile, maybe even weeks or months, but it is something I will work towards later in the year.

I posted some of my other customised cardigans here and here. The method for creating this cardigan is the same as I posted here except with this cardugan, I left the original buttons unchanged.
