Outfit

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great week. To be perfectly honest I have had a very bad and difficult week which has gone by extremely slowly. Its my first week back at university and already I am wondering how I will pass some of my subjects and worrying that it will be too much and too difficult for me. I'm finding it hard to concerntrate and focus after being out of practice for so long while on holidays. There have been times this week where I have seriously wanted to quit university and the thought has not entirely left my mind. I know I should continue and benefits will come at some point in the future but that all seems so far away, and when something makes me feel this unsettled, lonely and unhappy then rational thoughts often do not prevail.

These pictures are from last week when Rydog and I went to Hyde Park. I'd do almost anything to go back to that day because I was still on holidays then. This is another one of my new nautical outfits from a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately I won't have as much time for blogging now that I am back at university but I will keep up with things as much as possible. I hope you all understand and will continue to comment on my blog.

Celine: Through the Eyes of the World

Tonight I saw the movie Celine: Through the Eyes of the World. I love Celine and when I heard that this movie was only out for a short time I knew that I must arrange to see it. Celine Dion is my absolute favourite singer of all time. I love so many of her songs and her voice is outstanding and truly amazing. I wish I had seen one of her concerts. I found the movie very interesting to see coverage of the Taking Chances Tour 2008 and to watch some behind the scenes. I'm really pleased that I took the opportunity to see this tonight.

Valentine's Day/Alannah Dress

Hello everyone. It is my final week of holidays and I absolutely cannot believe that I am returning to university next week. It is difficult to comprehend where the last three months has gone and I wish the time had not gone so fast. I think the transition between relaxation and holidays to full on study will be quite difficult for me next week. I am trying to enjoy the time I have left which is only a couple of days now. This semester I will be studying constitutional law, property law, company accounting and accounting and information systems. I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to any of them.

Now onto something more positive- a new dress! This dress was a gift that I receieved last weekend from Rydog's mum and it is by Alannah Hill. Alannah is my favourite designer ever and I think her collections are truly the most amazing out there. I love the designs because of the femininity, detailing and use of colours. The materials are beautiful and the clothes fit well. I adore the bows and florals and I think the collections are consistent with my style. I posted about her collection previously and you can view it here. Since Alannah clothes are quite expensive I certainly thought it would be a lot longer before I owned anything from there so I am very surprised and happy that I now own this perfect dress. I love it so much.

I am disapointed at how the pictures of my new dress turned out because they certainly don't do it justice and it is actually more pink than cream up close. Also it is the sort of dress that I would wear to a very special event so I hope I have the opportunity to take some pictures another time. For now I took some normal pictures to give you an idea.

I wore this dress on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately it was raining all weekend and Rydog and I had planned to spend the evening at the beach so we had to make alternative arrangements at the last minute. We ended up having a quiet and relaxed candle dinner and Rydog went to a lot of trouble to buy my favourite foods consisting of caesar salad, chips, chocolate mousse and vanilla coke. I much prefered it to going out for dinner and I'd love to do it again sometime. Rydog gave me this cute bear called Harrison. Mum also bought me some chocolates for Valentine's Day which was very lovely.

Valentine's Day Movie

I saw the Valentine's Day movie with Rydog on Saturday night. I'd wanted to see it ever since the preview was released and I anticipated an excellent movie given the number of stars that were in it. I thought it would be too cliche to see it on Valentine's Day and it also gives me a chance to undertake alternative activities today. I enjoyed the movie and I expect it will probably be one of the better films I see this year. It was funny and sad at times but I thought some of the story lines were too predictable. I thought it may have been a bit better than it was but I'm not entirely sure why and I'm just being fussy because I really did have a fun time.

Grammy Awards 2010

The Grammy Awards were on not too long ago so I decided to select some of the outfits that I like and some that I don't like. It was actually quite fun, I'd like to do it more often when these events occur. I didn't find many outstanding outfits but there were a few I liked. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with my choices but thats ok, I have a fairly specific taste when it comes to outfits for the red carpet.

Good
:

Photobucket
-Lea Michele often dresses well for red carpet events and her look for the Grammy Awards was extremely popular. The colour of the dress is classy but its the style and fit of it that makes a statement. It love the asymmetrical and tight fitting top which flairs out into a tutu style skirt with texture.
-I love Taylor Swift and I think she is extremely talented and very pretty. The colour of her dress is the most beautiful and stunning shade of blue and the sparkles make a statement. I also like the top of the dress and how it sits off the shoulders. My only slight suggestion is that it would have been nice to see her in a shorter dress to show more of her figure and to reflect her youthfulness but I'm sure there will be many more occassions for that and I appreciate the elegant look she achieved.
-Its a refreshing change to see Pink look so feminine in this outfit. The bodice of the dress is a stunning feature and I like how the colour transforms from top to bottom. The detailing on the dress and her jewellery are beautiful.

Photobucket
-Keri Hilson's dress is timeless, classic and classy. At first I wasn't sure about the flair at the bottom of the dress but after looking at it some more I am now convinced that I like it and it complements the style. I adore the colour of the dress and I think the sparkly belt really sets off the whole look.
-At first I wasn't sure about Miley Cyrus' outfit and I think I'd like it better if it were longer and had shorter sleeves but overall I would place it in the good category. I think it is a different, fresh look that accurately reflects her youthfulness. Its a lovely colour and the shoes complement the dress.
-India Arie's dress is simple but classy and stylish at the same time. The sparkles are gorgeous and add a touch of glamour to her look. I think the dress is flattering and her jewellery is beautiful.

Bad:
Photobucket
-Lady Gaga. I know there are mixed opinions about this outfit but it is way too extreme and crazy for my liking.
-Kristen Bell. This dress is dull, boring and shapeless particularly for someone as pretty and attractive as Kristen. She has an amazing figure and I think she could have done a lot better than this.

-Katy Perry. I strongly dislike the colour of this dress and the pattern and the shape is completely wrong for her. I thought Katy was supposed to be a style icon so I expected a lot more from her.

Photobucket
-Malin Akerman. This futuristic inspired outfit is crazy and completely wrong. I can't believe that out of all possible outfits, Malin ended up wearing this. I really don't know what to say.
-Ciara. I personally think this is the worst outfit from the entire event. She looks like some sort of warrior. Seriously...no.
-Nicole Polizzi. This dress is extremely tacky and unflattering. The shape and the fit are completely wrong and it is way too short. I cannot believe that she would attend the Grammy Awards in this dress. I don't like the shoes either and I think that might have something to do with the shape of them.

So what do you think?
