Valentine's Day/Alannah Dress

Hello everyone. It is my final week of holidays and I absolutely cannot believe that I am returning to university next week. It is difficult to comprehend where the last three months has gone and I wish the time had not gone so fast. I think the transition between relaxation and holidays to full on study will be quite difficult for me next week. I am trying to enjoy the time I have left which is only a couple of days now. This semester I will be studying constitutional law, property law, company accounting and accounting and information systems. I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to any of them.

Now onto something more positive- a new dress! This dress was a gift that I receieved last weekend from Rydog's mum and it is by Alannah Hill. Alannah is my favourite designer ever and I think her collections are truly the most amazing out there. I love the designs because of the femininity, detailing and use of colours. The materials are beautiful and the clothes fit well. I adore the bows and florals and I think the collections are consistent with my style. I posted about her collection previously and you can view it here. Since Alannah clothes are quite expensive I certainly thought it would be a lot longer before I owned anything from there so I am very surprised and happy that I now own this perfect dress. I love it so much.

I am disapointed at how the pictures of my new dress turned out because they certainly don't do it justice and it is actually more pink than cream up close. Also it is the sort of dress that I would wear to a very special event so I hope I have the opportunity to take some pictures another time. For now I took some normal pictures to give you an idea.

I wore this dress on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately it was raining all weekend and Rydog and I had planned to spend the evening at the beach so we had to make alternative arrangements at the last minute. We ended up having a quiet and relaxed candle dinner and Rydog went to a lot of trouble to buy my favourite foods consisting of caesar salad, chips, chocolate mousse and vanilla coke. I much prefered it to going out for dinner and I'd love to do it again sometime. Rydog gave me this cute bear called Harrison. Mum also bought me some chocolates for Valentine's Day which was very lovely.

Oh I cannot say how I love your hair! Braids are so beautiful. And you look so festively in that dress. It was a really good choice for Valentine's Day!

I guess that constitutional law and property law are quite different to the german law. Is the Australian Law similar to the English or is it more seperate?

Rydog's Mum is soooo sweet to have given you that uber fantastic dress ... feminine yet edgy with the detailing at the back ... And don't let me get started on Rydog ... what a perfect boyfriend.

You know, I think things are perfect for anyone who has such a generously lovely heart like yours, Imogen.

Thank you so much for passing on the award to me ... bloggers like you truly make my day. I needed the boost especially right now when I'm feeling scared and helpless.

Have a wonderful, trouble-free school semester ever!

Gorgeous- it looks great on you and you can tell just by looking at the picture that it's a good quality garment. I love her stuff. How lucky to have your boyfriends' mother buy it for you - if only my mother in law had good taste!!!

Imogen,
First off, thank you for the award! I need to do a massive award post soon. I've been so lazy! I've been a bit behind on blogs these days, too. Some days there's just not enough time to squeeze it all in. I hope you're enjoying your last few days of holiday. It sounds like you'll have quite the hefty course load when you return, but I'm sure you'll be fine! From what you've written in the past, you seem like a very dedicated and hard-working student. Aw, your Valentine's dinner with Rydog sounds like great fun. I've found that some of the fondest and most special memories can be created when impromptu plans takeover what we were initially looking forward to. You look so lovely in your new Alannah Hill dress! Everything about it - the cut, pattern, and back detail - is beautiful. How very sweet and generous of Rydog's mum :)
