The Weekend

This weekend I went to the zoo with Rydog and his family. I really like it there and I had so much fun. I like the atmosphere and the beautiful setting on the water. It was also such lovely weather yesterday. It reminded me of summer holidays and made me temporarily forget about university and assessments. It was a nice escape. I like the tiger the most, what a cute face. Here are some pictures from the day:













I wish the weekend didn't end so quickly. I also went to a concert on Saturday night and out for dinner so it was the best weekend I've had in a long time. Now its back to the boring working week and its been raining for most of the day.

1. I'm bad at deciding what to write for this, but I feel very excited whenever I'm tagged.
2. My favourite perfume that I own is Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue.
3. I am going to England in 2011. One of the main purposes for going is to see where my Nana grew up and to learn more about my family's life before they moved to Australia. Especially since Nana died, I have been interested in this so it will be meaningful for me.
4. My favourite movie is Mean Girls. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
5. Confessions of a Shopaholic is my favourite movie from this year.
6. I still play neopets occassionally. I started playing as a child and because I have a good account, I don't want to abandon it.
7. Skirts are my favourite item of clothing, although I'm sure thats obvious.
8. As of last Tuesday, I've been going out with Rydog for two years. Time has passed so quickly!
9. The colour I like the most is purple, although I change my mind frequently.
10. When I was a young child I wanted to be a police officer.

I'm not sure who has complete this, so I tag everyone that hasn't done it.

Outfit

I didn't do much this weekend. I went out for dinner a couple of times but nothing exciting during the day. So I decided to find our old keyboard and teach myself to play again. I tried many different musical instruments when I was a child. The flute was the one I knew the best but the keyboard/piano was always my favourite. I never had any lessons but I taught myself quite a lot since I was similiar with other instruments. I have forgotten a lot now, but slowly it is coming back to me. I found it very fun this weekend. I could hardly drag myself away and I didn't complete as much study as I'd planned to. Its nice to rediscover an interest. I just have to make sure it doesn't distract me from university work. I think I'll remove the keyboard from my room until Friday.

This is an outfit I wore last week. The weather has been very nice lately. Its the warmest winter I can remember.







I'm really not looking forward to this week. Its going to be busier than usual because I will be receiving two law assessments.

1950s Fashion

Tonight I discovered the website My Vintage Vogue, a collection of vintage fashion photos and designers from various decades. I like this website and it really enhances a love of vintage fashion. I've selected some pictures I like from the 1950s range. Its one of the best decades for fashion, if not the best, in my opinion.





I enjoyed compiling these photos. I'll probably do it again sometime.

Outfit

The outfit that I wore today was more casual than usual. I hardly ever wear jeans, probably only a couple of times in the whole year and skirts are more my style. But its good to try some different styles and to change my look occassionally. I also thought that my panda top would look better with jeans because a high waisted skirt would cover most of the panda's body. I like pandas, although I'm not entirely sure why. I bought this top this week from Just Jeans. I need to stop spending money on clothes.

Today was my last day of holidays and I'm returning to university tomorrow. I cannot believe how fast the last six weeks went. I know that is always the case with holidays, but even more so this time. It is just crazy to think about where the time has gone. Its very hard to be on holiday and being able to do whatever I want, and then needing to be in an intense, studious mood by tomorrow morning. I also don't feel ready to go back to studying because I haven't fully dealt with Nana's death. Although it was three weeks ago, I wish I had more time to reflect on things without having to worry about study. I wish the holidays would continue for a bit longer, although I am grateful for the time that I had.

This semester I am studying Criminal Law, Tort Law, Information Systems and Organisation, Planning and Control. I'm not looking forward to any of them. I think criminal law could be interesting but its going to be so much work. The size of the criminal law text book has been concerning me for the last couple of weeks.







I had a very fun weekend and it was lovely to finish the holidays in this way. I did some shopping and went out for dinner a couple of times. Today I learned how to sew and I made a skirt. Rydog's mum taught me. She is a good friend and it was nice of her to help me. It wasn't as difficult as I expected because she divided the tasks into small steps. I had no idea how to use a sewing machine this morning and I have never done anything like this before so I progressed a lot today. It was enjoyable and its a good skill to have. I like the fact that no one else will have the same skirt as me. I'd like to do it again sometime and improve my skills.
