Grammy Awards 2011

I know the Grammy Awards were a little while ago now but I still like to cover all the red carpet events so I thought I would still post my best and worst dressed list. There have certainly been a lot of red carpet events lately. I didn't find many outstanding outfits at the Grammy Awards but there were a few that I liked. I certainly easn't as impressed as I was with the Screen Actors Guild Awards but I have fairly specific taste when it comes to outfits for the red carpet.

-It should come as no suprise that La Michele is in the best dressed list once again. I don't think I have seen a red carpet look from her that I have not liked and hers was my favourite of the Grammy Awards this year. I love the black lace, the detailing and rouching of the sleeves and the neckline. This is a very flattering dress on her and I also love her hair at the moment. The only part I didn't like was the shoes which I thought were too chunky but this is a minor detail.
-Selena Gomez looked very classy and chic in this stunning dress. The colour of her dress is most beautiful and the stunning shade really makes a statement. I also like the top of the dress and how it sits on the shoulders. Her hair, makeup and jewellery are beautiful and she looks so incredibly pretty.
-I much prefer Kelly Osbourne's recent image and her dress is a refreshing change to what is usually seen on the red carpet. The colour and violet shade are beautiful, I love the texture and the detailing of the darker coloured bow. This is a very sweet and adorable look and I think it's good to see Kelly in this type of dress.

-I think that Julianne Hough's colourful and beautifully designed maxi dress is a standout. It is different from many of the block coloured gowns that are seen regularly on the red carpet. I love the cut and the neckline and the pink and purple are pretty.
-It is not very often that Nicole Kidman is in my best dressed list but I was much more impressed by her look here. It was a refreshing to see a change from her black or nude toned dresses that are normally seen on the red carpet. I am not absolutely amazed by the dress but I do think it was successful with the colours and the strapless design and the ruffles. I think her hair looked incredibly beautiful and it is such a gorgeous colour.
-As I have explained recently I have been very impressed by Dianna Agron's red carpet looks lately so it should come as no surprise that she is in the best dressed list again. This isn't my favourite of her looks and I like her last two gowns better. I would have liked it better if she wore more statement shoes and maybe different jewellery but sometimes nothing beats a classic black dress. The dress is very stylish and chic.

-OMG Rihanna, I just don't know what to say, this is unbelievable. It is obviously far too revealing and I can't comprehend why she would turn up to the Grammy Awards in this. I was so shocked when I saw this. It is very sad for me to see Rihanna in such a bad dress because I used to love her so much. She is one of my favourite singers but I liked her much more around the time she released Good Girl Gone Bad.
-I don't usually like Ciara's looks either and I don't think this dress is at all flattering. I don't really like the pattern and it is revealing in all the wrong places. I think the slit at the front is unfattering and I strongly dislike the shoes.
-For me, this is another OMG look. I cannot believe that Nicki Minaj would come to the Grammy Awards in full leopard print and the bright lipstick is not tasteful either. It seems to me that it is more of a costume. There is nothing I like about this look.

-Jennifer Lopez's dress is far too short and the combination of the revealing dress and the super high heels are distasteful in my opinion. A sparkly dress could have been stylish but not in this form. The hair extensions look unnatural and ungroomed.
-Hayley Williams, in my opinion, seems costume like and unsophisticated and I don't like the combination of all the black with the pink skirt part. I dislike the see through part in the middle and it is just a comination of too many different styles.
-I love LeAnn Rimes as a singer but not her look here. I don't like the colour or the style of the dress and her face looks so unnatural. She looks too thin here especially since her head looks extremely large.

So what do you think? What were your favourite and least favourite looks?

I love Julianne Hough's dress and Nicole Kidman's, as they're so unusual but pretty, they really stand out.

I think that Rihanna is trying too hard to be outrageous these days. Nicki Minaj is known more for her crazy outfits than her music and this is another grasp for attention.

J Lo's hair is awful, and I know she has great legs but she doesn't need to flaunt it all the time! You're right, her dress is too short for the occasion!

Selena Gomez turn to a girl with high sense of fashion lately.
She almost never goes wrong in every red carpet that she attended.
she looked so stunning without trying to be so mature & sexy in her grammy's gown.

Another favorite is came from Jean Paul Gaultier's gown wored by Nicole Kidman. Nobody can't wear this perfect couture gown like her (really enjoy to saw her sing, smile and did a lil bit dance during Katy Perry's perfomance)

i was a lil bit disapointed with Rihanna, is she trying to extra exposed everything lately? we have our own opinion!

great post dear:)

The cliche that beauty is in the eye of the beholder is definitely true. A long, long time ago I took a series of tests and was told that I had high degree of artistic inclination and talent, but I've found my opinions often vary from some of diverse opinions people share about the best and worst dressed in the comments to different blogs.

I personally loved the way Rihanna looked in that dress as well as the outfit she wore while performing "What's My Name?. I liked the way Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry looked too (I love high hemlines). There were many beautifully dressed people there and I'm a sucker for ruffles, bows and feminine fashion.

As for worst dressed I thought Steve Cojocaru was among them as were some of the outfits he liked. His taste is horrendous - no artistic eye or taste at all.

I loved the vast majority of the outfits and performances at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards immensely and watched it from start to finish.

Lea Michele - definite Best Dressed. She looks amazing.
Selena Gomez - ohemgee, she looks like a freakin' superstar. She also looks like she could be her boyfriend, Bieber's, mother. So there's that ...
Julianne Hough's dress belongs at a beach wedding, not the Grammys. She should have gone with a solid color. If you look back, Lea Michele wore a green solid of the same dress, and she looks phenomenal.
J.Lo actually rocked it, disco ball-style. Besides, her legs are her best feature, so she has to show them off. Her long extensions actually look great.

Oooh I agree with you on ALL of these! Nicole Kidman's dress was my favorite. :)

I was terribly disappointed with Rihanna. It was so gross. Although I did feel if Jennifer Lopez's dress was longer, it would have been super cute...
