Hunter Valley Part 3/Light Show

These are even more photos from my New Years Eve weekend in the Hunter Valley which I wrote about here. While there we attended a Christmas light show at the Hunter Valley Gardens. The display was extensive and extremely impressive, it must have taken ages to set it all up. I loved the Alice in Wonderland section of the gardens but it was difficult to take pictures there because of the lighting. I really enjoyed our trip to the light display at the Hunter Valley Gardens, it was so much fun.

Hunter Valley Part 2

These are some more photos from my New Years Eve weekend in the Hunter Valley which I wrote about here. As I mentioned the Hunter Valley is a serious possibility as a destination for my wedding and in particular this chapel at the Hunter Valley Gardens. It was beautiful inside especially the stained glass windows. and now I feel inspired to have a purple colour scheme to fit in with the grapes in the window display. We have decided on a time to get married and that will be in December of 2012.

Short Hair

Last week I finally built up the courage to have my hair cut short. I had been wanting to do this for most of last year but I was unsure because it was such a big change since I have never had a short hair style before. Also, the success of this hair cut will depend on how easy it is to maintain and whether or not I can make it straight because my hair is not naturally straight. This hair cut was inspired by Katy Perry, I even took a picture of her to the salon. I love long hair but it wasn't working for me because my hair was very thin and damaged. I am pleased I made this decision and it's good to have a change sometimes. I'm looking forward to experiementing with different hair accessories and the styling of this hair cut.

Hunter Valley Part 1/Outfit

I recently returned from a weekend away in the Hunter Valley. The Hunter Valley is known as the wine country and is a rural area north of Sydney. I have been there once before many years ago but this time I enjoyed it a lot more than that time I visited as a child. I am definitely a city girl so often I don't like visiting the country but this time was totally different. I enjoyed being away from city life and temporarily escaping my life in Sydney. All issues seemed so far away. It's interesting because I think the pictures in this post are representative of the stereotypical image of Australia.

This honestly seemed like the fastest few days of my life and I would have done anything to have stayed in the Hunter Valley for longer. I wish I could be there now. While there we visited some vineyards, attended a new years eve dinner, went swimming, visited the Hunter Valley gardens and Christmas light display and played tennis. I loved playing tennis because up until a few years ago I was a competitive tennis player so I think it will always remain my interest. The weather was insanely hot because the Hunter Valley is more inland than Sydney. It reached 40 degrees on all the days and it was the warmest weather I had felt in almost a year. On our last night there we lay under the stars for a few hours. I have never done that before but it was definitely one of the most enjoyable experiences ever. It was so relaxing and beautiful. On the way home my mother in law took us to visit the chapel in the Hunter Valley gardens as a destination for Rydog's and my wedding. It is a real possibility.
